Shipping Policy

How We Deliver

Every pre-owned item on our store is one-of-a-kind. Because sizes and conditions vary so widely, we keep delivery simple:

  1. Collection from our Newcastle premises — free, available for every item
  2. Northeast local delivery — a flat £100 fee, available for selected items (admin-marked) to postcodes in the North East
  3. Contact us to discuss — for items outside the standard options

National DPD/courier shipping is not currently offered but may be reintroduced in future.

Collection (Free)

All items are available for free collection from our premises:

Baird House, City West Business Park, Scotswood Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE4 7DF

To arrange collection after purchase:

  1. Complete your order online and select Collection at checkout
  2. You will receive a confirmation email with your order number
  3. Email preowned@smarterbuys.co.uk or call 0300 500 0975 to arrange a collection date and time
  4. Bring your order confirmation and photo ID when collecting

Collection is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Northeast Local Delivery (£100)

For selected items (look for NE Delivery available on the product page), we offer local delivery to the North East of England for a flat £100 fee.

We deliver to postcodes starting with:

  • NE — Newcastle and surrounding
  • TS — Teesside
  • DL — Darlington
  • DH — Durham
  • SR — Sunderland

What’s included:

  • Delivery to your room of choice (ground floor)
  • We will contact you to arrange a delivery date and time
  • Installation is not included — items are placed where you want them

Outside these postcodes? You can still purchase — please choose collection, or contact us to discuss alternative arrangements.

Some larger or more unusual items are marked as Contact us to discuss delivery. These can still be purchased online for collection, but delivery arrangements need to be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

What to Do If Your Item Arrives Damaged

If your item arrives damaged in transit:

  1. Take photos of the damage and packaging
  2. Contact us within 48 hours at preowned@smarterbuys.co.uk
  3. We’ll arrange a free collection/return and full refund
